No matter the sport or activity of choice, just about everyone in Stowe, Vermont has stepped foot on to the Mayo Fields at some point. The 32 acre open space is home to a number of leagues, cross country skiing, events and celebrations throughout the year.
From time to time, local athletes and park users are subject to inclement weather. The Sports shelter project was intended to provide cover for facility users before, during and after sports events as well as off season storage for sports equipment.
My architecture firm’s involvement with the project required a full donation of my drafting time to help move the project into a more visible light for soliciting local support and bond vote approval.
